Welcome to the Hobby Industry Coalition
A policy initiative built to protect and grow the U.S. toy and hobby industry. The following shared values guide our work and define the membership in the Coalition.
Hobby Industry Coalition Principles
The Hobby Industry Coalition is a non-partisan alliance of manufacturers, distributors, retailers, trade associations and other stake-holders. Membership in the Coalition is open to companies, organizations, and institutions that share its foundational values and principles. These values guide our advocacy, strengthen our credibility, and unify our voice in support of the U.S. toy and hobby industry.
We also recognize the vital role individual hobbyists and consumers play in sustaining our industry. Opportunities for individual supporters to formally participate are under active consideration and may be introduced following the Coalition's initial launch.
Our coalition is built on the following shared values:
1. Commitment to U.S. Industry and Workforce
Members must demonstrate a meaningful connection to the United States through their workforce, operations, infrastructure, or market engagement. Participation reflects a commitment to strengthening the toy and hobby industry within the U.S. economy and cultural landscape.
2. Alignment with Coalition Values and Mission
Members support the Coalition’s core mission to promote fair trade policy, educational opportunity, and creative access in the United States. This alignment is rooted in shared values—such as advocacy based on impact, stewardship of hobby culture, and broad public benefit.
3. Unified Voice for Industry Fairness
Members agree to join a collective effort to speak with a unified voice on issues affecting the U.S. toy and hobby industry. While individual perspectives may vary, the Coalition seeks common ground to advance fairness, sustainability, and opportunity for all segments of the industry.
4. Commitment to Transparency and Constructive Participation
Members are expected to engage constructively, share relevant insights, and uphold transparency in Coalition discussions and activities. Participation should be respectful, solution-oriented, and focused on achieving meaningful outcomes that benefit the broader U.S. hobby and toy community.
5. Respect for Diverse Industry Segments
The Coalition brings together manufacturers, distributors, retailers, educators, and collectors across many sectors. Members are expected to respect the roles, challenges, and perspectives of each stakeholder group, recognizing that diversity strengthens the Coalition’s credibility and reach.
6. Nonpartisan Engagement
The Coalition operates independently of political parties or ideologies. Members commit to advancing shared policy objectives—such as tariff reform and trade fairness—through fact-based, nonpartisan advocacy at all levels of government.
7. Willingness to Collaborate and Contribute
Membership in the Coalition is not passive. Members are encouraged to contribute time, ideas, data, or resources in ways that support the Coalition’s success. Constructive collaboration—whether behind the scenes or in public forums—is vital to achieving long-term policy impact.
